Will the FixD gadget work for motorcycles?

The Fixd gadget is a small device that can make any car smart. This device can identify all types of information, including when you need your next maintenance or why did the engine light turn on. So, all you need to do is plug this device into your vehicle and sync it with the mobile application.

But the question now is if it will work on motorcycles.  To answer this question, let us take a brief look at what exactly Fixd is and how it works.

What is Fixd?

Fixd is a system that includes hardware and software. It was developed by Georgia-based Fixd Automotive.  This small combo delivers actionable information about your vehicle.

The Fixd hardware device collects information from your vehicle and delivers it to the mobile app, which you can show to your mechanic when taking it for repairs or maintenance.

How does it work?

Getting started with Fixd is actually pretty simple. You need to acquire the sensor, which you can buy at a price of $79.99. Plug this sensor in to your vehicle's OBD-II port. This port is usually found somewhere around or under the glove box.

Once you have connected the sensor, you do not need to worry about it, it is being powered by your car so there is no need for charging elsewhere.  Download the application on your phone, create an account, get in your car, and sync the device with the app via Bluetooth.

The sensor will then monitor your vehicle's health and give reports to your mobile application.

Will it Work on Motorcycles?

The Fixd combo will work on cars built in 1996 or later, since these are the ones that began using the OBD-II port. If your car is older than 1996, you will not be able to use Fixd.

Since motorcycles do not include an OBD-II port, but instead use CAN BUS, the Fixd will not work. The company has not stated anything regarding any compatibility in the future.
