Supercross and Motocross racing described

Supercross and Motocross racing is the most popular among all racing events. There are many similarities between the two types of racing but certain differences as well. These races involve and invite professional racers to participate in the racing events. The racing comprises similarities such as jumps, insane tight turns, and lots of dust and dirt.

Motocross Racing

Motocross racing is a form of off-road racing conducted and held on trails or tracks. In simple words, the circuits are on a dirt track that follows a natural terrain. This racing started in the UK in 1909. This kind of racing was called Motorcycle trial competitions, also known as “Scrambles” racing. Later, as this kind of racing spread to other countries, the name changed to “Motocross Racing”. The bikes that are used for these races used to be called “Scramblers”. The tracks or the trails were made following different patterns for the riders to take left-hand turns and right-hand turns. The width of the track is between 16 to 40 feet.

Motocross engines two-stroke or four stroke units depending on the size of the bikes. The size of the bike may vary from 50cc to 650cc. These bikes allow the riders to make high jumps at high speeds. Motocross bikes are also used in freestyle motocross.

Supercross Racing

The new type of Motocross racing that has become popular among the riders is Supercross racing. The tracks are made inside a stadium or in any arena. The width of the track is 20 feet. There is as limit to the types of jumps allowed due to the height of the building.
