This year's model of the Dorsoduro is, well, better. Aprilia have outdone themselves with the 2018 Aprilia Dorsoduro 900. But not only did they improve themselves but they are kicked butt of the competition with a faster brain and classy sophistication. 

A History of Innovation

Aprilia is an Italian brand of bike that has a long history of supermotos. In 2006, they went head-on against the Suzuki DR-Z400 SM with their SXV 450 and 550. At the time, these models eliminated the single-cylinder engine and added a super-compact 450cc and 550cc engine.  

Then a series of other engines followed with interesting configurations that leads to this year's Dorsoduro 900.

Improvements in this Version

This version of the Aprilia bike is better than ever. Old versions of the bike, such as the 2008 Dorsoduro 750 used the V-twin configuration. This new version brings the most important change - a 90-degree V-twin 11-mm increase displacement to 896 cc.  

To go with this muscle, Aprila claims that a 95 and 66 foot-pound torque is included. Speaking of which, this is also an improvement with respect to the Dorsoduro 750. 

Fueling is excellent for a twin engine. No vibrations make the ride a very smooth experience. 

The dash also had a makeover. It features a gear indicator, engine temperature, graph tachometer, and a reminder of the mode and traction control level selected. Bluetooth technology allows you to control your phone with the selector on the handlebar so that you do not have to remove the grip.
